Upper Primary Genesis Band
A comprehensive tuition program in which students learn Band instruments through instruction in a group.
The Genesis Band program seeks to extend a student's experience in instrumental music through group lessons and through participation in ensembles.
The Genesis Band accepts Band Basics graduates, and Gr 4 & 5 students who want to learn an instrument.
Genesis Band students commence instruction on one of the following five Band instruments; Flute, Clarinet, Trumpet, Trombone or Euphonium. In second term students may transition to other instruments including Saxophone, Bass Clarinet, Tuba and Percussion.
Band Instruction Fees include a full year of Instrumental Music ensemble class.
All materials for learning in both terms are provided.
Instruments for the band can be provided for an additional Levy.
Each student must attend two group classes per week during the school year.
Schedule
The Band program is a Full Year course.
Each class meets one day from 3:00pm and from 4:00pm on the other day
Students must be collected at 5:00pm after the 4pm class.
There is no need to re-register at the start of the Term Two ASA registration period.
Genesis Band Term One
One 45 minute Instrument Class + One 45 minute Ensemble Class per week.
Focus on Five core instruments.
Optional additional weekly Chinese New Year Drum Team Class
Genesis Band Term Two
One 45 minute Instrument Class + One 45 minute Ensemble Class per week.
Transition to other instruments optional.
Optional additional weekly Jazz Band Class
