Instrument Selection for Beginning Students
New Band students are asked to select one Woodwind Instrument and one Brass instrument from the list of choices. Physical attributes are taken into consideration by the band director, as well as personal preference before an instrument is allocated to a student.
Class Expectation
Students should come to every class with their instruments and music ready to have fun while playing and learning a Band Instrument. Students should commit to practicing, as Practice Makes Progress.
Beginning Band and Rising Band Practice expectation is at least 10 minutes per day, for at least three days a week.
Band Basics is an exploratory course, thus practice is encouraged, but is not mandatory.
School Instrument Loan
A school instrument can be provided at a small levy cost, or you can provide your own instrument. School instruments are. regularly clean and maintained. Nearly 100% of the instruments are two years old, or less.

Attendance s mandatory at these concerts, as the Band is a team ensemble. Other performances may be arranged during the year. Concerts’ dates will be provided at the start of the school year.
